43,696 Public Charging Points
France has one of Europe's most developed EV charging networks, with over 120,000 public charge points. The IRVE national program has driven rapid expansion along motorways, in city centres and at supermarkets. Paris, Lyon and Bordeaux lead in urban charging density. The A6, A7 and A10 motorways offer frequent fast-charging stops.
Major French charging networks include TotalEnergies, Izivia (EDF Group), Lidl Charge France, Freshmile and Tesla. On motorways, look for IONITY (350 kW), TotalEnergies (fast) and the government-backed Charge In Drive network. RFID cards and contactless bank card payment are both widely accepted.
