Why city pages instead of just one big map
The main interactive map on ChargeMap24 shows over 150,000 charge points across Europe. That's a lot, sometimes too much. If you live in Berlin or are driving to Hamburg, you don't want to zoom through an entire continent. You want to know right away: how good is the charging network here? Which networks dominate? Where do you charge downtown, and where on the outskirts?
That's exactly what the new city pages answer. Each page is a focused destination for EV drivers in a specific city, with a local map, key numbers, and a short status report.
What's on every city page

We refined the format over several iterations. It started as just a map plus numbers. Then came written context, then network info, then FAQ blocks. The current format for every city page:
- An embedded Leaflet map with every charge point in and around the city
- Key numbers: total charge points, how many are fast chargers, which networks are present
- Network overview: which providers have the strongest local presence (EnBW, Tesla, Ionity, Allego, and more)
- Local tips: notable locations, parking garages with charging, and other specifics
- FAQ: common questions specific to that city

One pattern became clear while building out these pages: charging infrastructure is distributed very unevenly, not just in raw numbers, but in quality too.

How we scaled the content

Writing 50+ city pages by hand wasn't realistic. We went with a hybrid approach: an automated data layer (key numbers, the map, network info pulled directly from the database) combined with editorially written text for each city.
The data layer updates automatically whenever charge-point data changes. The editorial text gets manually revisited when it matters, for example when the local network shifts significantly or a major new project comes online.
Regional pages as the next step
Alongside city pages, we've also built out regional overview pages. Each major region gets its own page with aggregated numbers and local charging-density breakdowns.
These pages work as an "entry point" for users who aren't sure yet which specific city to search, or who need a region-wide overview, for example planning a multi-day trip through a state or province.
Coverage across ChargeMap24
All city pages and map content are available on ChargeMap24 for international users. DACH-region cities are already live, with Scandinavian and Benelux cities following in the coming weeks.

Which cities have pages?
Currently over 50 cities across Europe. See them all in the city overview. More are added continuously.
How often is the data updated?
The data layer (charge-point counts, networks) updates automatically from the database on a regular schedule. Editorial text is revisited manually when relevant changes occur.
Are there pages for Austria and Switzerland?
Yes – Vienna, Zurich and Bern are already integrated, with more AT/CH cities to follow.
My city is missing – what can I do?
If an important city is still missing, we welcome suggestions. We prioritize cities with high demand and growing EV adoption.
